Several months after Nigeria and other affected countries have been declared Ebola free, the virus has resurfaced!
More than 150 people have been placed under close medical watch after a 15 year old boy died of the dreaded Ebola Virus Fever near Monrovia, the Liberian capital. You will recall the virus claimed more than 4, 000 lives in Libera alone.
You will recall that the deadly Ebola Virus was brought to Nigeria by a Liberian national, Patrick Sawyer who later died in a Lagos hospital. The virus claimed precious lives in Nigeria among whom is the distinguished and award winning and unforgettable Dr. Stella Adadevoh.
Speaking on the new development, the Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr. Modele Osunkiyesi emphatically advised the general public to maintain high standards of hygiene. Both he and other experts that commented on the issue reminded the general public to take regular hand washing with soap very seriously.
